NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints rewarded one of their own following their final regular season game, extending the contract of tight end Josh Hill for three years, $8.85-million. The signing was first reported by Field Yates of ESPN.
This is big for a number of reasons. Starting tight end Benjamin Watson announced earlier in December that he would be retiring after the 2018 season, his 15th in the NFL. With Hill’s contract set to expire in March 2019, that left inexperienced Dan Arnold as the only Saints tight end signed on for the foreseeable future. Now, New Orleans has some stability at that position.
