Report: Saints set to hire Klint Kubiak new OC

The 49ers passing game coordinator is expected to take the job, according to an ESPN report on Friday.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints may have finally found their offensive coordinator.

Klint Kubiak, who currently serves as the passing game coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, is expected to take the job, according to an ESPN report on Friday.

Kubiak is the son of former Super Bowl-winning coach Gary Kubiak who was Mike Shanahan's offensive coordinator in Denver during the Broncos title run in the late 90s.

No deal can be finalized until after San Francisco plays the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII (58) next Sunday.

Coincidently, Shanahan's son, and San Francisco head coach, Kyle, will be coaching in the Super Bowl with Kubiak.

Kubiak has play-calling experience having served as the OC for the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. The Vikings finished that season ranked in the Top 15 in the league for total yards, passing yards and points. Prior to that, Kubiak was the team's quarterback coach the previous two seasons.

He held the same position and was passing game coordinator in Denver before joining the Niners this season.
