NEW ORLEANS — According to a report from WWL Louisiana media partner NOLA.com, New Orleans Saints (2-3) quarterback Derek Carr is expected to miss a few games after suffering an oblique injury in the 26-13 loss at the Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) on Monday night.
NOLA.com cited an NFL Network report that said an MRI on Tuesday confirmed that the four-time Pro Bowler will likely miss the Saints' Week 6 game against visiting NFC South rival Tampa Bay on Sunday and against the Denver Broncos the following Thursday.
Carr, who went 18-of-28 for 165 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, left the game with a bit more than nine minutes left to play.
His backup, a fellow Fresno State alum, Jake Haener went 2-of-7 for 17 yards.
The Saints drafted Haener in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft. New Orleans also has this year's fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler out of South Carolina.
