NEW ORLEANS — According to a report from WWL Louisiana media partner NOLA.com, New Orleans Saints (2-3) quarterback Derek Carr is expected to miss a few games after suffering an oblique injury in the 26-13 loss at the Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) on Monday night.
NOLA.com cited an NFL Network report that said an MRI on Tuesday confirmed that the four-time Pro Bowler will likely miss the Saints' Week 6 game against visiting NFC South rival Tampa Bay on Sunday and against the Denver Broncos the following Thursday.
Carr, who went 18 of 28 for 165 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, left the game with a bit more than nine minutes left to play.
His backup, a fellow Fresno State alum, Jake Haener went 2 of 7 for 17 yards.
The Saints drafted Haener in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL draft. New Orleans also has this year's fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler out of South Carolina.
