Saints set to stay on West Coast for entirety of training camp

The Saints first two preseason games are expected to be in Arizona and San Francisco.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints are heading to Irvine, Calif., for training camp this year, as their Metairie facility gets a well-needed facelift.

It now looks like the Saints won't have to leave the West Coast for that roughly four-week period.

New Orleans' first two preseason games are expected to be in Arizona and San Francisco, according to Jeff Duncan of Nola.com.

The Saints would travel to the Cardinals in the second week of August. Then host the 49ers at the University of California in Irvine for joint practices, before playing in San Francisco in the third week of August.

This fulfills the Saint's request to the NFL, to stay near California during camp.
