NEW ORLEANS — The Saints gave wide receiver Rashid Shaheed a one-year contract extension on Saturday. He will be with the team through the 2025 season and his contract is worth $5.2 million according to ESPN.
The speedster was not only deadly in the return game last season, earning first team All-Pro and Pro-Bowl honors.
Shaheed is expected to have a No. 2 receiver position this season, Nola.com reported. Last season, he became a weapon in the offense, tallying 46 catches for 719 yards and 5 touchdowns.
His "game breaking ability" has earned him a reputation as "one of the NFL's premier return men," our partners said.
Shaheed averaged 13.6 yards per punt return with a touchdown last season.
According to our partners, next offseason, he will not be able to negotiate potential deals with other teams as a restricted free agent.
