Drew Brees wants to find longtime Saints fan he saw for years on team's game film

Brees said the fan had season tickets near the scoreboard that was in between every game film play and he watched his family grow.

METAIRIE, La. — Saints legendary quarterback Drew Brees spent a LOT of time studying game film during his time with the Saints from 2006 through 2020.

The newly-elected member of the Saints Hall of Fame and holder of nearly every passing record in team history was known for his meticulous preparation and he says one thing caught his eye and the eye of the other quarterbacks over the years.

Brees said that the Saints shot their game film wide to show all the alignments and between each play that was filmed, the team would pan over to a scoreboard so that the QBs would know what the down and distance and game situation was for every formation.

Brees said that during that time he constantly saw a fan, he called “Red” because of his red hair.

“There was this guy and I have never met him, though I would love to meet him… Red, from 2006 to 2020, when I was here, Red had these season tickets that were literally right behind the scoreboard. Then all of a sudden Red has a little Red, then that little Red is a medium Red, and then a big Red and I’m like, ‘we’re watching Red’s family just grow here, like we’re playing a board game or something.’

WWL Louisiana Anchor Leslie Spoon says she wants to find Red and would like people to text 504-529-4444 for any leads on who Red might be.

*"Red" seems to have been found, though no word yet on a possible meeting with Drew Brees. Fans in the WWL Facebook comment tagged a number of people, but one seemed to get the most attention his Facebook seemed to acknowledge the identification.
