New Orleans Saints getting in gear for next season

Allen expects full attendance for the 3-day mandatory minicamp next week.

NEW ORLEANS — The Saints wrap up organized team activities this week and most veterans have attended the voluntary workouts. Some vets are missing, like running back Alvin Kamara and cornerback Marshon Lattimore, but Dennis Allen said he expects full attendance for the three-day mandatory minicamp starting next week.

Allen said wide receiver Chris Olave wore a red non-contact jersey during team drills because he tweaked his shoulder in the weight room. He still made plays, including a deep reception in a drill we weren't allowed to shoot.

Olave is the clear cut No. 1 wideout this year. He led the team with 87 receptions for over 1,000 yards and five touchdowns. Olave said he got comfortable being the No.1 during the season.

Allen also addressed detractors that have picked the Saints to struggle in the standings in 2024.

"Nobody has any control over what the outside opinion is or how they choose to voice that opinion," Allen told media following Organized Team Activities on Wednesday. "So let's don't worry about what the results are going to be. Let's just worry about the process because the results take care of themselves if you put the work in. And that's really where our focus has been."
