NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to his Monday night arrest.
Olave said, "Damn crazy world" in one tweet and "They couldn’t wait to try to tear me down & bash me" in another.
Olave deleted the second tweet about 20 minutes after sending it.
Kenner Police arrested Olave for driving 35 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Bodycam footage showed Olave being handcuffed in front of his home after officers allowed him to drive home, which was a couple of blocks from the incident.
"So, you all are arresting me?" Olave asked the officers. "I play for the Saints."
The New Orleans Saints representative told WWL-TV the team was, "aware of the charge against Chris Olave."
"At this time we will defer to (Olave's) representative if they have further comment on that matter," Douglas Miller, the Saints Executive Director of Football Communications, said.
This is the second offense for Olave, who was cited for speeding in Kenner back in August.
Olave's brother, Josh Olave, tweeted Monday night following his brother's arrest. He said, "Bro was on the way back to the crib from CVS... aint nun serious." However, some fans disagreed with the post.
The 23-year-old, second-year pro taken 11th overall out of Ohio State in the 2022 NFL Draft is currently leading the team with 39 receptions and 471 receiving yards through seven games.
