NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane Green Wave has added a former 5-star quarterback to their roster.

ESPN's Pete Thamel says ex-Oregon QB Ty Thompson has committed to Tulane.

Thompson spent three seasons with Oregon and played in 17 games. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Thompson could potentially replace Michael Pratt as the team's starting QB.

Pratt sat out of Tulane's bowl game last week against Virginia Tech. This gave Redshirt sophomores Kai Horton and Justin Ibieta a chance to audition. Horton completed 13 of 20 passes for 119 yards and rushed for one touchdown. Ibieta was hurt in the first quarter and carted off with a leg injury.

If healthy, Ibieta will compete with Horton and Thompson to be the program's QB in 2024.
