NEW ORLEANS — No. 17 Kansas State looks to hold firm in the national rankings and avenge a 2022 home loss to Tulane when the Wildcats visit the Green Wave this week. K-State's 17-10 loss to Tulane two seasons ago was surprising at the time but less so in hindsight.

That Tulane team went on to beat USC in the Cotton Bowl and the Green Wave has looked strong ever since. Tulane is now seeking its 25th victory in 30 games.

The Green Wave also could bolster its hopes of getting into the new 12-team College Football Playoff by beating a power conference team. Kansas State is 0-2 all-time against Tulane.

The first meeting was in 1988 in New Orleans.
