Expect the NCAA Men's Final Four to have a more familiar look and feel to it this spring — and not just because it'll be in New Orleans for a record sixth time. NEW ORLEANS — The city of New Orleans is a finalist again to host a NCAA Men's Final Four.

This is for 2031, and New Orleans is one of three cities still in the running, along with Atlanta and Nashville.

New Orleans has hosted the final four six times. The first was in 1982, and the most recent was two years ago when the Kansas Jayhawks won the national championship in the Superdome.

The announcement on 2031 should come later this year. The NCAA leaked information about the three finalist cities.

It's an uphill battle for New Orleans becasue Atlanta was supposed to get the 2020 final four, but the pandemic canceled it.. So they're sort of owed one.

Nashville is building a new football stadium, which will be ready to go by the 2031 Final Four.

New Orleans is in the hunt because the city did a great job hosting two years ago and the NCAA loves returning to the Big Easy.

WWL Louisiana is told that the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation made the pitch this summer. Getting into the final three is significant even if you don't win because sometimes, the second and third-place finishers get the next two.

The final four sites are locked in until 2030, so this is the next one up for bid. Of course, the Super Bowl is our next monster event—that's coming in February.
