FORT WORTH, Texas — LSU's gymnastics team has earned its first-ever NCAA National Championship with a score of 198.225, according to Nola.com.
After being a runner-up four times in 2014-2019, the Tigers finally broke through during their 10th trip to the NCAA finals in Fort Worth Texas.
"The Tigers rallied from a small deficit to Utah after three rotations with a brilliant final routine on balance beam. LSU scored a 49.7675 to finish at 198.225," our partners reported.
Since 1983, LSU's gymnastics is the eighth team to win a national title.
