BATON ROUGE, La. — No. 19 LSU looks to continue building its postseason resume when the Tigers play Army for the first time in nearly a century this weekend.
Army's visit to Tiger Stadium is a first. It's also the first time LSU and Army have played one another since 1931.
That game was held at West Point and Army won 20-0. LSU enters this matchup at 5-2 after consecutive victories over Missouri and Auburn.
LSU still has a chance to win the SEC, but it also needs to continue building its resume with convincing victories in non-conference play if it is to have any hope of sneaking into the College Football Playoff as a two-loss team.
Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels leads the nation in total yards with 401.3 per game.
Army (2-4) needs a strong performance after three straight losses and will need to win four of its final six games to become bowl eligible.
Currently, LSU is favored by 31.5 points according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Saturday's kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
