LSU pitcher Aaron Nola was named the Southeastern Conference pitcher of the week after tossing his fourth consecutive complete game in the Tigers' 5-0 in over Florida on Friday.It was also his second shutout of the season.
Nola limited the Gators to four singles and one walk while striking out three in the performance.
Nola is the first LSU pitcher to have four consecutive complete games wins since Mike Sirotka in 1993 and the first Tigers pitchers with two shutouts in one season since Greg Smith in 2005.
Nola is 9-0 this season with a 1.92 ERA. He also leads the SEC with 93 strikeouts.
It's the second time he has won the award this season; the other came two weeks ago after he shut out Alabama.
