Where can I watch the LSU women's basketball NCAA game against Rice?

The LSU women's basketball team is one of the most interesting and popular teams in the country. They are the defending national champions.

NEW ORLEANS — The LSU women's basketball defending national champions will open NCAA tournament play Friday against Rice and people want to know how they can watch the game.

Despite being a third seed nationally, LSU is a strong candidate to make a deep run in the tournament and possibly defend its title.

LSU title chances

With Angel Reese returning and head coach Kim Mulkey seeking her fifth national title, LSU is must-see TV.

You can see the game against Rice in person by purchasing tickets, though they are mostly now only available on the secondary market. A check of the LSU web site shows only a small handful of single tickets only available.

If you wish to watch the women on TV, you're in luck. LSU is one of the most interesting teams in the field and will get extensive coverage early in the tournament - and, of course, if they progress, then nearly every game in the tournament will be show on TV from the Sweet Sixteen on out.

Where to watch

LSU and Rice will be show on ESPN nationally on Friday at 3 p.m. CST. The game will be proceeded by South Carolina's opening matchup with a play-in game winner.

What's Next?

Should LSU win its opener, it would host the winner of the opening round game between sixth-seeded Louisville and 11th-seeded Middle Tennessee. That game would be on Sunday, March 24th. The time and network have not yet been determined, but it is likely that LSU will again draw a spot on ESPN or ESPN2, especially if transfer guard Hailey Van Lith is matched up against her former school, Louisville.
