FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Ranked No. 2 nationally, LSU Gymnastics prepares for the NCAA postseason, competing in the second round of the Fayetteville Regional. The Tigers hope to secure their spot in the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth Texas.
The Tigers head into the postseason as the No. 2 overall seed and top seed in the Fayetteville Regional, which started Wednesday and ends on Saturday, Apr. 6.
“There’s no such thing as an easy regional. We’ll see some familiar SEC faces and we know that it’ll be a great environment, but regardless of where we go, we have a job to do” said head coach Jay Clark. “It’s just about us staying on our same message, and that’s focusing on the five minutes in front of our face and not getting too ahead of ourselves. We just have to go out there and be normal. If we can do that, then we’re pretty confident in the results.”
On Thursday, No. 2 LSU will compete against No. 15, No. 15 Minnesota, No. 18 Oregon State, and the winner of the first-round competition between Boise State and BYU.
"The Tigers will start the meet on vault and will rotate to bars and beam before finishing on floor. Minnesota will start on the floor, Oregon State on the beam, and the winner of Boise St/BYU will start on the bars. All teams will rotate in Olympic order."
The Tigers will compete on Thursday, Apr. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Bud Walton Arena. The NCAA Gymnastics Championships will take place from Apr. 18-20.
