BATON ROUGE, La. — According to our media partners at the Times Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, LSU head coach Brian Kelly said quarterback Jayden Daniels is "day-to-day" after entering concussion protocol following a devastating hit in the Tigers' loss to Alabama on Saturday.
LSU will not know if Daniels will suit up on Saturday against Florida (6:30 p.m., SEC Network) until at least Wednesday, Kelly told the "Paul Finebaum Show."
"He's made improvements," Kelly said, "but this is a process that we'll just have to see how it plays out from day to day."
Despite the hit from Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner not receiving a targeting penalty, which would have warranted automatic ejection, Kelly feels a flag should have flown after reviewing the game film himself.
"We sent it into the league office because we felt like it checked all the boxes," Kelly said. "Again, we want to protect the quarterback here, obviously."
