Olympic Gold Medalist Hezly Rivera commits to LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU's gymnastics team has a new addition, gold-medal gymnast Hezly Rivera. She announced her commitment to the team on Thursday.

In a post on Instagram, Rivera said she is excited to join LSU on a full athletic scholarship. At just 16 years old, she is recognized as the youngest member of Team USA to compete in the 2024 Olympics.

"I am so blessed & excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) on a full athletic scholarship. thank you Jesus for this wonderful blessing! thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for helping me throughout this process. I also want to thank all the girls, coaches, and staff at LSU for everything.

GEAUX TIGERS."
