METAIRIE, La. — The New Orleans Pelicans announced on Thursday that the team has signed 24-year-old guard Jalen Crutcher.
The two-time All-Atlantic 10 First-teamer from the University of Dayton, started 39 of 57 games played in two seasons with the Charlotte Hornet's G-League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, averaging 15.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 32.7 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder also shot .430 from three-point range.
The Pelicans also announced that in a corresponding move, the team waived 7-foot center Liam Robbins.
Fresh off a 122-105 loss to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, New Orleans (0-1) hosts the Houston Rockets (1-0) in both team's second preseason game before finishing the four-game preseason game on the road in Atlanta (Sunday, Oct. 14) and in Orlando (Tuesday, Oct. 17).
The Pelicans open the regular season on the road against the Grizzlies in Memphis on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
Tipoff tonight is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Legacy Arena at BJCC in Birmingham, Ala.
