NEW ORLEANS — A day after signing a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, the team recalled its NBA G League affiliate guard Izaiah Brockington (Birmingham Squadron) to the main roster on Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 196-pounder was averaging 12.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 41 games with the Squadron this season.
Brockington initially joined the Pelicans on a two-way contract with the Squadron in 2022 after going undrafted out of Iowa State.
He was waived a week later, but has been on again, off again and on again with the Pels and Squadron since March of last year.
The Pelicans (36-25) have won six of their last 10, including a 129-102 home victory over the Indiana Pacers last Friday. Next up, New Orleans takes on the Raptors (23-38) in Toronto on Tuesday night.
Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. EST.
