Pelicans prep for three-game home stand following All-Star break

Pelicans host the Houston Rockets on Thursday night.

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Pelicans resumed practice on Wednesday following a week-long NBA All-Star break that did not include any Pels rostered in the Western Conference's 211-186 loss to the East on Sunday.

The Pelicans(33-22) have won seven of their last 10 games – including three straight heading into the break to sit tied at sixth with the Phoenix Suns at sixth in the conference. The position on the ladder puts the Pels just inside the post-season play-in, a situation the Pels have been forced into the last two years.

Now New Orleans kicks off the final 27-game regular-season stretch with three consecutive at the Smoothie King Center, starting with the Houston Rockets (24-30) on Thursday, followed by the Miami Heat (30-25) Friday and the Chicago Bulls (26-29) to close the weekend on Sunday.

Brandon Ingram (non-Covid illness) and Cody Zeller (left knee contusion) are listed as questionable, while Pelicans are listed as out, including G-Leaguer Dereon Seabron (Birmingham Squadron) and second-year player E.J. Liddell, who was assigned to Pelicans' G League affiliate – the Birmingham Squadron.

Dyson Daniels is also out as he recovers from a left knee meniscectomy.

He is expected to be re-evaluated within four weeks.

Tipoff for Rockets at Pelicans is 7 p.m.
