ATLANTA — The New Orleans Pelicans suffered its third straight loss to open the four-game 2023 NBA preseason schedule falling 110-105 to the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday.
Zion Williamson scored 16 points in 25 minutes of play for the Pels, only trailing teammate Jordan Hawkins with 17 points.
Hawks forward Onyeka Okongwu led Atlanta with 18 points.
The Pelicans lost their preseason opener against Orlando 122-105 in New Orleans on Tuesday, followed by a 120-87 loss to the Houston Rockets in Birmingham, Ala., on Thursday.
The Pels wrap their preseason slate in Orlando in a rematch with the Magic on Tuesday.
New Orleans opens the regular season on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and then their home-opener against the New York Knicks on Saturday, Oct. 28.
