NEW ORLEANS — On Tuesday night, the New Orleans Pelicans advanced to the knockout round of the NBA In-Season Tournament.
The Dallas Mavericks helped the Pelicans clinch 1st place in West Group B with their win over the Rockets Tuesday. During group play, the Pelicans went 3-1 with a +33 point differential.
The quarterfinals of the knockout stage will be played December 4-5.
New Orleans will play at the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m. If the Pelicans win that game, they will advance to the semifinals in Las Vegas against either the Lakers or Suns.
Each player on the Pelicans team will get $50,000 just for making the quarterfinals.
The players on the tournament's championship team will each get $500,000, the runners-up each get $200,00 and the losing players of the semi-finals each get $100,000.
