PORTLAND, Ore. — Trey Murphy scored 24 points and Brandon Ingram added 17 as the New Orleans Pelicans bounced back from a poor defensive effort against the Lakers Friday night, beating the Blazers in Portland 93-84 Saturday night.
Playing without Zion Williamson, who missed due to a left foot contusion, the Pelicans tightened up the defensive effort by holding Portland to 40 points in the first half as they jumped out to a 47-40 lead.
Murphy hit 7 of 10 shots, including going 5 of 8 from the three-point line as he got a shot in the starting lineup with Zion's absence.
The Pelicans have now won 5 of their last 6 contests to move to 31-22 on the season.
