NEW ORLEANS — The NBA Cup is here.
Fans will get to see the New Orleans Pelicans in the second-ever in-season tournament on Friday, November 15. Unfortunately, they’ll be without Dejounte Murray (hand), CJ McCollum (adductor), Jordan Hawkins (lower back), Herb Jones (right shoulder), Zion Williamson (left hamstring), and Jose Alvarado (hamstring).
How does the NBA Cup work:
All 30 NBA teams participate in the NBA Cup. The first stage of the tournament is group play, which takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays from Nov. 3 through Dec. 13.
After group play, the NBA Cup becomes a single-elimination tournament. The Quarterfinals (Dec. 10-11), Semifinals (Dec. 14), and Championship (Dec. 17).
Both the semifinals and championship are played at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
2024 NBA Cup: Who is in the Pelicans' group? When do they play?
The Pelicans are in West Group C with the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, and the Golden State Warriors.
Group stage schedule
- Nov. 15: vs.Denver, 7 p.m.
- Nov. 19: at Dallas. 7:30 p.m.
- Nov. 22: vs. Golden State, 7 p.m.
- Nov. 29: at Memphis, 4 p.m.
What does the Pelicans NBA Cup look like?
Artist Victor Solomon designed every NBA Cup court. According to the NBA, Solomon created the court’s concentric circle foundation concept and collaborated with every team to add a layer of personalization unique to each market’s court.
What does the winner of the NBA Cup get?
All players on the winning NBA Cup team will receive a $500,000 prize, and the team will get the NBA Cup trophy.
