New Orleans high school swimmers have a shot at Olympics

The two fastest swimmers in each event will advance to the Olympics this summer in Paris.

NEW ORLEANS — Two New Orleans area high school swimmers will compete at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials this week.

Kayden Hedrick of Mandeville and Enzo Solitario of Jesuit will be in Indianapolis representing the red, white, and blue.

Hedrick will race in the 200-meter butterfly on Tuesday and Solitario will compete in the 100 butterfly on Friday, June 21.

The trials are a nine-day event that began on Saturday with a temporary pool built inside the Indianapolis Colts' home football stadium.

The two fastest swimmers in each event will advance to the Olympics this summer in Paris.
