NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has signed Capital City Go-Go shooting guard Jaylen Nowell.
Nowell, 6-4, 201, has appeared in 197 NBA games (four starts) across five seasons with Minnesota, Memphis and Detroit.
Nowell was selected with the 43rd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and holds career averages of 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 17.0 minutes per contest.
The University of Washington product appeared in 13 games (one start) for Memphis and Detroit during the 2023-24 season, posting averages of 6.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 minutes in 16.5 minutes per game.
New Orleans went 49-33 overall, 30-22 in Western Conference play, and 21-19 at home during the 2023-24 season. The Pelicans averaged 8.3 steals, 4.6 blocks, and 12.4 turnovers per game last season.
New Orleans takes on Portland on Monday in a matchup of Western Conference teams.
