NEW ORLEANS — Former LSU Baseball coach Paul Mainieri is returning to the dugout to lead another SEC program.
According to Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball, Mainieri is expected to be named head coach at South Carolina.
The Hall of Fame coach retired in 2021 after 15 seasons with LSU.
Under Mainieri, the Tigers earned an NCAA Tournament Top 8 National Seed in six consecutive seasons (2012-17).
Mainieri had a 641-283-3 record as LSU's head coach and has won more than 1,500 games in his collegiate baseball career.
