Longtime New Orleans dermatologist dies at 90

The doctor published medical research on the importance of using topical retinoids for hair growth.

NEW ORLEANS — Longtime New Orleans dermatologist Dr. Nia Terezakis passed away Thursday afternoon after an illness. She was 90 years old.

Dr. Terezakis practiced dermatology for many decades in the Greater New Orleans area. She studied at Tulane School of Medicine, class of 1966. She also interned and had a residency at LSU School of Medicine.

She published medical research on the importance of using topical retinoids for hair growth.

Dr. Terezakis even wrote a book titled The 'Art' of the Meal, in her doctor's cookbook.
