BATON ROUGE, La. — One person was killed when an 18-wheeler truck struck a guardrail and jackknifed, ejecting the driver as part of what is being described as a multi-vehicle crash in Baton Rouge on I-10 near the Mississippi River Bridge Monday morning.
The truck was seen on traffic cameras dangling over the side of the elevated interstate. Traffic was backed up for five miles, according to the DOTD.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. during rush hour near the Highland Road exit ramp.
