BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana Department of Education released its 2023 School Performance Scores Monday.
For high schools, Louisiana bases the performance scores on six areas, including: Whether students are at least at the "Mastery" level on subjects on the standardized test, progress of the students during the year, dropout rate, ACT scores of 21 or over, graduating on time and taking college-level (AP) courses during the year and the graduation rate of that year's class.
Any score above 95 on a scale up to 150, is considered an A grade.
Here are the top 10 high schools in the state as listed on the School Performance Scores. A significant percentage of those schools are considered magnet, or selective schools that often have admission requirements.
