LAPLACE, La. — A 37-year-old man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle on W. 5th Street on Saturday afternoon, Louisiana State Police said.

Police are investigating the fatal crash, which they said happened just after noon on the road (LA 44) at the turn off for Bradford Place.

Officials said Anthony Silverstri, Jr. of LaPlace was driving a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle when a car turned onto Bradford Place, crossing his path. Silvestri lost control of the motorcycle, laid the vehicle down and was ejected into the car, police said.
