LOUISIANA, USA — U.S Rep. Mike Johnson will possibly run for House speaker, his office announced on Friday afternoon.
Johnson said he is making calls to lawmakers to gain support for his speakership run, according to a representative from Johnson's office.
Currently, no decision or timeline has been made for House speaker.
Officials say anyone who wants to run for speaker has to contact Congresswoman Elise Stefanik by noon on Sunday, Oct.22, according to a representative from Johnson's office.
