CHICAGO — The DNC is underway from Monday-Thursday in Chicago. WFAA will be covering the event daily, and here's how you can watch and follow along.

The opening Day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago featured notable Texans on the mainstage, including Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett.

National Democrats who spoke on the first day included President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Raphael Warnock, and more.

The issue of abortion rights also took center stage on the first day of the convention, with joint remarks from Amanda and Josh Zurawski, of Austin, Kaitlyn Joshua of Louisiana, and Hadley Duvall of Kentucky speaking about their experiences with abortion, miscarriage and pregnancy after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Before the DNC officially began, several thousand self-described leftists began protesting outside the convention Sunday, calling on Democrats to end financial aid to Israel and better protect civilians in Gaza, with protests expected to continue for the duration of the convention.
