LOUISIANA, USA — WWL Louisiana projects that Republican Julia Letlow has won another 2-year term in Congress.
She faced M.V. Mendoza, a fellow Republican, and Democrat Michael Vallien, Jr.
In 2021, Letlow became Louisana's first Republican woman in Congress. She was easily elected to the 5th Congressional District seat that was vacated when her husband, Luke Letlow, passed away from COVID-19 complications just five days before he was to take office.
Letlow had a career as an administrator at two universities in Louisiana.
District 5 includes the northernmost parts of Livingston, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes.
