LOUISIANA, USA — Here's some quick facts you need to know about Louisiana's Congressional General Election. It will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7.
What you need: Voter ID Requirements
Voters have to bring their I.D.s to the polls.
Any single one of these items can be used as a form of I.D. :
- Driver's license
- Louisiana Special ID
- LA Wallet digital driver's license
- Military identification card that includes a name and picture
Where and When to Vote
The deadline to register in person, by mail, or at the OMV Office is Wednesday, Nov. 6. The deadline to register through GeauxVote Online is Saturday, Nov. 16; this is for those who have never registered to vote and voters who want to make registration changes.
Early voting for the Dec. 7 election will start on Friday, Nov. 22, and end on Saturday, Nov. 30 (excluding Sunday, Nov. 24, Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29). Polls will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Absentee Ballot
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Dec. 3 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters).
The deadline to receive an absentee ballot is Dec. 6 by 4:30 p.m. (other than military and overseas voters).
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on election day.
Request an absentee ballot through Voter Portal or writing to your Registrar of Voters Office.
