NEW ORLEANS — FEMA accidentally sent out a press release on Thursday declaring a 'major disaster' for the state of Texas and it cited the Saints blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys.

The release said that disaster assistance is available to the state of Texas to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by the New Orleans Saints on September 15th, 2024.

That's the day the Saints beat the Cowboys 44 to 19. But the press release wasn't real.

According to Nola.com, the email sent out by FEMA said "President Daniel Largues Declares Major Disaster After Saints Beat Cowboys in Dallas."

FEMA confirmed to us that the release was inadvertently sent out to the media and was meant for internal training purposes only.

"Today, the FEMA Press Office inadvertently sent an email to be used for training purposes only. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please direct any questions to the FEMA Press Office," said in a statement.
