PARKER COUNTY, Texas --- A quick-thinking Texas man used his monster truck to cruise around his flooded neighborhood and pluck stranded neighbors from their water-logged homes on Monday.
Cole Geeo hopped behind the wheel of an eight feet high monster truck and saved his neighbor Deborah Wright, from her second floor balcony as water from the Brazos River quickly rose up the side of her house.
"Well it just came up so quickly," she said, adding that this isn't her first run-in with heavy flooding.
But while she's no stranger to flooding, in her 35 years living in Millsap, Texas, she said Monday was the first monster truck rescue she'd experienced.
Video of the incident shows Wright climbing down a ladder and up another ladder to the passenger seat of Geeo's monster truck. Minutes later she was back on dry land.
"That's a redneck rescue I do believe," said Dina Young Gray, Wright's co-worker. She said after hearing that Wright was in trouble, she began calling around for help.
"That’s just how Millsap is," she said. "We just look out for one another... If this didn’t work, we were going to get a boat."
Parker County Emergency Management advise residents who are experiencing flooding to call 9-1-1 and not rely on friends to perform rescue operation.
So far the Brazos River is about 4.5 feet above flood stage, which is considered "moderate" flooding.
