NEW ORLEANS — A man was shot on the interstate in New Orleans East early Saturday morning.
According to NOPD, the shooting occurred on I-10 East and the Downman Road exit around 2:39 a.m.
The victim was driving on the interstate when he heard gunshots. He then got off the interstate and realized he was shot.

He was taken to an area hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
