Vehicle strikes fire hydrant in Elmwood, floods S. Clearview Parkway, Parish officials said

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — A driver struck a fire hydrant in Elmwood Monday morning which flooded S. Clearview with water as drivers attempted to drive through the mess a Jefferson Parish spokesperson told WWL Louisiana.

Crews from the Jefferson Parish Water Department were quick on the scene to work on a fix and stop the water from flooding the street.

It happened Monday morning on S. Clearview Pkwy at E. Corporate Drive in Elmwood.

Traffic is slow-moving in both directions, but there are no major traffic delays.

It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the incident. The Water Department responded and once the main was isolated, crews will replace the hydrant.
