With New Year's Eve around the corner and the 2019 Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day, the city is restricting traffic and parking in parts of the Marigny, French Quarter and Central Business District.
Traffic and parking restrictions start on Saturday night and will be enforced until early Tuesday morning.

Traffic Restrictions
No vehicles are allowed in the following areas during the following times:
From 8 p.m. - 4 a.m. overnight on Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
- Bourbon St. from Canal St. to Dumaine St.
- 700-800 blocks of St. Ann St., Orleans Ave., St. Peter St., Toulouse St., St. Louis St., Conti St., Bienville St., and Iberville St.

Here are the cities tips for parking:
- Do not block hydrants, driveways and sidewalks.
- Do not park within 20 feet of a crosswalk, intersection, or stop sign.
- Park in the direction of travel on one-way streets and with the right wheel to the curb on two-way streets.
The festivities kick off on Sunday with the Allstate Fan Fest in the Jax Brewery parking lot. Then there's the Allstate New year's Eve Parade on Monday afternoon and tricentennial fireworks around the city on Monday night.
If that weren't enough, Tuesday night is the 85th Annual Allstate Sugar Bowl in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, with the Allstate Fan Jam that afternoon in Champions Square.
