VIDEO: Police chase ends in fiery crash at Elysian Fields and St. Claude

Video shows the suspects car bursting into flames as he flees the scene on foot.

NEW ORLEANS -- A man fleeing from State Police got into a fiery crash on Elysian Fields.

According to Louisiana State Police, troopers attempted to stop a vehicle driven near the intersection of North Rampart and Frenchman around 10:10 p.m. on April 9. The driver, 21-year-old Bickett Theophile, ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of St. Claude and Elysian Fields.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash.

Theophile was taken to UMC for minor injuries, then booked into Orleans Parish Prison for aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer by flight, reckless driving, hit and run and an active warrant for 2nd degree battery.
