15-year-old arrested after two teens shot in Boutte, sheriff says

Sheriff Greg Champagne said the teen was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

BOUTTE, La. — A 15-year-old was arrested in connection to a double shooting in Boutte Louisiana that injured two teens, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Greg Champagne said the teen was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

After an investigation, deputies found evidence and obtained a warrant for the teen's arrest. They searched for the them "throughout the day until a parent surrendered him late this afternoon," a release said.

The shooting happened Monday, Sept. 16 around 8:30 pm. Deputies responded to a call of a shooting in the area of Lily Street and Pine Street in Boutte. There they found two teenage victims.

One of the teenagers sustained a gunshot wound to the hand, while the other was shot multiple times, airlifted to the hospital, and is in serious condition.
