NEW ORLEANS — Former President Donald Trump will be in New Orleans Monday evening for his Presidential campaign fundraiser.
As the Times-Picayune reports, he will visit the Uptown home of business owner Boysie Bollinger, who is hosting the fundraiser organizers hope will raise $2 million or more.
Trump's visit to New Orleans comes just weeks after his felony conviction on 34 charges, the first criminal conviction of a U.S. President.
“The obvious abuse by the (legal) system has got people upset,” Bollinger told the news outlet. “It’s empowered people and made them feel stronger about him having a viable chance to run a good race.”
U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise will be among the special guests at the event.
Trump is scheduled later this week to take on President Joe Biden in the first televised debate in the 2024 campaign.
