ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. — Drivers in Tangipahoa and St. Charles parishes need to be alert to some road closures that could cause delays.
Tangipahoa Parish
A portion of North Hoover Road in Tangipahoa Parish will be closed to through traffic daily through Wednesday, Nov. 27, as crews conduct preliminary work for a road widening project slated for next year.
Parish President Robby Miller said contractors will work from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to remove trees and stumps in the eastern right-of-way using heavy equipment.
The closure spans from south of Sisters Road to LA 22, with flaggers directing local residents to alternate routes. In addition, surface treatment work will occur on Tracey Lane, Acadiana Place, and Steptoe Road during the week of Nov. 25, and motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.
St Charles Parish
Courville Drive in Luling will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. as Empirical replaces utility poles on behalf of Entergy. The work will require the area to be de-energized during the replacement process. Affected residents were notified in advance through door hangers distributed by the contractor.
