NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal crash on Tuesday afternoon.
According to DOTD, the person who was killed was one of their contracted workers.
The incident happened on Interstate 610 West at St. Bernard Avenue exit.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development traffic camera showed the accident at 1:46 p.m.
Currently, the right lane on I-610 West at Canal Boulevard is still blocked, and congestion is approaching Elysian Fields Avenue. All other lanes are open.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
