NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for Wednesday evening as the Prince Hall Shriners Annual Parade and Second Line will start at the Mahalia Jackson Theater on 1419 Basin Street at 6 p.m.
The event is scheduled to finish at the intersection of Canal and Tchoupitoulas streets approximately 3 hours later.
Police encourage motorists to avoid these areas due to traffic congestion at that time.
The Imperial Parade, presented by the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of North and South America and its Jurisdictions, Inc. (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.), includes members dressed as clowns, riding bicycles, on motorized units, floats, and walking.
The event is free to the public.
