NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Police Department responded to a traffic incident that resulted in a fatality on Thursday afternoon.
According to the NOPD, the call came in at 4:26 p.m. in which a female driver was injured in the incident that occurred on Interstate 610 East at St. Bernard Avenue.
Police said Emergency Medical Service transported the female to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Investigators believe the driver was traveling east on I-610 when she reportedly lost control and struck another vehicle.
Police claim the vehicle continued into the grass, striking two trees before rolling over.
No other injuries were reported.
