NEW ORLEANS — Thursday, August 29th, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., you can expect the left two lanes of the CCC Westbound to be closed to remove concrete barriers.
Friday, August 30th from 4 am to 7 pm, just the left-most lane will be closed.
And then Friday night, from 7 pm to 4 am, the left two lanes will be closed.
Everything will be back open at 4 am on Saturday, August 31st.
So, with the decorative lights up and working, when is all of this going to be over?
The project – and the lane closures that came with it – began in late April.
Right now, the Department of Transportation estimates the 21-million dollar project will be finished by mid-December.
They tell us there will be more lane closures until then, but they’ll be after 7 pm and shouldn’t impact traffic.
DOTD says the next phase of the project will include more light installation, checking each of the lights, and scene testing.
