NEW ORLEANS — Governor Jeff Landry posted, calling the ticket, “the most radical left in American History,” and saying Trump and Vance would prioritize everyday Americans.
Former Governor John Bel Edwards is on the other side of the coin, saying he was proud to serve with Walz and will “be a VP for all Americans.”
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson echoed Landry’s post, and wrote in a statement, “I look forward to highlighting the vast differences between the most radical left-wing ticket in American History and the America First agenda that President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance are fighting for every day.”
We also heard from the Louisiana Democratic Party, whose chair Randal Gaines said, “Our current Louisiana statewide elected officials could learn a lot from his steadfast governing, coalition building, and effective policies that greatly help working families, women, and children.”
The Louisiana GOP did not issue a public statement. Tuesday, JD Vance said he “absolutely” wants to debate Tim Walz, but a date has not been set.
